What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a percentage of the sell price. Markup is profit as a percentage of the cost. A product that costs 10.50 and sells for 42.00 has a 75% margin but a 300% markup. MarginKeeper works with margin.
Why doesn't the app show a currency symbol?
So it works in every currency. Enter your figures in whatever currency you use, and the results come back in that same currency.
What is the difference between Keep Profit and Keep Margin?
When a tariff raises your cost, Keep Profit adds just enough to the price to earn the same profit per unit as before; your margin percentage goes down. Keep Margin raises the price enough to hold your margin percentage; your profit per unit goes up.
What does the slider under the result do?
It lets you try a higher or lower result and see the other numbers update with it. Move the slider back to the center to return to the original calculated result.
Does the app collect my data?
MarginKeeper does not collect data from the app. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking. See our Privacy Policy for details.
